Arugam Bay's surf season runs roughly from April to October, opposite the west and south coast season. The main point break works best from May through September, with consistent, long right-handers that make it one of the best beginner-to-intermediate waves in Asia.
Book surf lessons early in the season (April-May) if you want smaller, more forgiving conditions, or come July-August for a livelier lineup with the town in full swing.
